Chris
Ching - Discovered to have a high count of midichlorians
at the age of twelve, Chris was sent to a school for magic in
England and later joined the worshippers of Gozer. When casting
spells proved too unpleasant, he found work in Octopussy's Circus
as a trapeze artist. Currently stuck in Lodi again. Chris has
been married to co-owner/writer Lise Ching since May 2002.
Lise
Ching - Lise (sounds like Liz) Ching is a lifelong resident
of San Joaquin County (not counting the college years spent in
Santa Cruz). She has a BA in Psychology and more than ten years
experience in her "day job" of reproductive health education.
She does, however, have almost thirty years experience of being
relatively geeky. Lise has been married to co-owner/writer Chris
Ching since May 2002.
Kevin
Cunningham - Kevin J. Cunningham is a filmmaker and photographer,
having studied at the acclaimed program of San Francisco State
University. He lives in Foster City, CA, and when he's not making
films, he works at a video store trying to keep the regulars from
renting bad movies and blaming it on him.
Dawn Capp is an author and attorney in Sacramento. In her spare time, she's a dog lover and spends too much money on her canines, going to obedience and tracking classes and traveling to shows. She has a B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and an M.S. in medical science. So, of course, she became a lawyer, a decision likely influenced by spending too much time in laboratories inadvertently inhaling noxious chemicals.
KLM - KLM is happiest when preparing or eating, reading or thinking about,
talkingor dreaming about, food. For over a decade, writing and reporting on the culinary scene has kept this foodie well fed and well traveled; and always dining with friends ensures the calories are shared, and the figure is kepts velte! A partial listing of mealtime favorites include: churros and chocolate on the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, Spain; Indian food anywhere in London; fresh grilled fish at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic; Codfish & Potatoes at Greg's Steakhouse in Bermuda; fried clams in Mystic, Connecticut; Italian food at the upstairs restaurant around the corner fromthe Ritz Carlton in Montreal, anything fresh, sliced and bagged (just by pointing to it!) in Paris, and the shrimp tacos at Baja Fresh here California's San Joaquin Valley.
Dan Loeffelbein - A Central Valley graphic designer, Dan has pretty much resigned himself to the fact that he will not be a rock star in this lifetime. He doesn't like Thomas Kinkade.
Rob Manuel
Larry Stanley is the editor and publisher of Penguin Comics and Movies, located at http://www.penguincomics.net and has done over 500 movie reviews in his career.
Sonny Gotos II - Stockton's native son, Sonny attends the Institute of Business, Management, and Law (IBML) Charter High School, with a 4.00 GPA. He likes getting puzzled looks from people when he tells them what school he goes to. An avid gamer literature aficionado, he splits his spare time between surfing the net (mainly skimming all the articles featured in SJFanboy.com), reading, and playing video games. Sonny currently holds the, self professed, world record for quoting The Simpsons ("Well, he's kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog. Actually replace 'accidental' with 'repeatedly', and 'dog' with 'son'." - Lionel Hutz,). He's been known to spend excessive amounts of time trying to figure out what happened to Mr. Pink at the end of Reservoir Dogs.
The Jeremy Holloway - This plotter of world revolution calls Sacramento his base of operations. A graduate of UC Davis, the schemer quit law school to better pursue the virtues of online womanizing. Convinced he is a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, he will stop at nothing to realize his grand vision; the total subjugation of all Star Trek fandom until Doctor Who is clearly proclaimed the superior sci-fi program. He is fiercely proud of his visibility in Spider-Man (requires a capable zoom on a DVD player) and proudly stood against Bruce Campbell who tried to guilt-trip him into giving up his beloved Kryptonite Red Hawaiian shirt. The webmaster of chud.com annointed him the "A$$hole of St. Petersburg," although he does not hail from there. He often is found waging intellectual warfare against his megalomaniac alter-egos online at Slashdot and Ain't it Cool News.
William Miller - William Miller is a rock music enthusiast who believes that everything old is new again and vice versa. Believes all of life's problems can be solved by Foghat's seminal album Stone Blue. Often can be found riding a bus humming Elton John's Tiny Dancer
P. Joshua Lackey
Sean
Finney - Sean Finney is a Sacramento transplant trying
for world domination with his band Theory (www.theoryband.net).
After graduating UCSB, he started a small production studio to
record local projects, does some scoring for local film projects,
loves long naps, and his stupid bulldog.
Cody
Grimm - Cody Grimm is a musician, writer and graphic
designer who has lived in many far flung places; from Louisville,
KY to Madrid, Spain. He got his BFA in Film & Mass Communication
from Emerson College in Boston. Cody currently resides in San
Francisco and when not working, Cody loves to cook and occasionally
sleep.
Philip
Masters - A former puppet maker who invented radioactive
clay that could enslave human beings, Philip Masters now spends
his time stalking the aisles of Toy"R"Us looking for
elusive short-packed action figures.
Mike
Nahhas - Mike is head curator for the Atari 2600 museum
in Modesto. He is most excited about the museum' upcoming retrospective
on the game Adventure entitled "Those Dragons Sure Look Like
Ducks."
Sharon
Scrivner - Sharon Scrivner (pronounced phonetically as
it appears) has a BA in Psychology and has been a children's Social
Worker for years. Currently, she owns and operates her in-home
preschool program. In her spare time she does digital manipulation
& enhancements for a local photographer. She is an artist,
writer, poet, music enthusiast, and most of all a movie lover.
She hopes to bring a "commoners" point of view to the
movie reviews since she is not in the film business professionally.
Her favorite movies tend to be independent films. Her movie motto
is: "The more dialogue the better." She never stops
thinking of good film ideas and will one day write a screenplay.
Greg
Severi - Greg is an action figure aficionado and webmaster
for absolutespringfield.com. His rapier like wit has served him
well except for the time he met Mother Teresa and asked if she
was really Burgess Meredith in drag.
Kristen
Smith - Thirty-something Paperwork Goddess/CSUS student
(Religious Studies major)/Girl-About-Town. Convinced the five
most wretched words in the world are, "Oh, Kris, you're so
funny!" because she knows that translates into "Huh?".
Kristen came late in life to comic books, after years of denying
her inner geek and sneaking furtively into Star Trek movies. When
not reading, working, or randomly falling down, she actively campaigns
for the office of "God."
Bryan
Strait - Lead singer for central valley band Better Left
Unsaid. Formerly of Built and Broadside. Bryan also has a Rocktorate
in Duran Duran studies from the School of No-no-notorious.
Jordan
Torrey - Works for world famous Tippet Studios, one of
the best special effects houses in the movie industry. Had the
balls to call one of his many bands Frenulum.
